The ACFA recognizes there is constant change occurring in the political landscape with Government responsibilities and services being reduced and decentralized. There is also a demographic shift of political power from rural Alberta into urban centres.

We will continue to adapt our political action strategies in recognition of these changes, paying particular attention to how we influence policy makers and deliver member support services. The association will extend its intelligence-gathering network and will continue to emphasize ongoing, personal contact with politicians and bureaucrats at all levels.

The ACFA will also do those things necessary to support members dealing with issues at the local level. We will continue to work hard at ensuring provincial and local politicians recognize how future policy decisions at those levels impact on cattle feeding, underscoring at every opportunity how those decisions can benefit or harm the sustainability of Alberta's rural economy.
