Six-Unit Version of New Calibration Station

PITTSBURGH – Initially introduced in two single-unit versions, the M•Cal™ Calibration Station is now available in a six-unit version ideal for maintaining larger fleets of M40 Multi-Gas Monitors. The M•Cal406 features simple, push-button operation allowing users to simultaneously perform function tests or calibrations on up to six M40 monitors. Bright LED indicators then display whether or not the instruments passed or failed the desired function. Compatible with M40 software version 4.0 and higher, the M•Cal406 is available in seven different configurations that will accommodate any combination of M40 monitors either in a diffusion mode or with an SP40 sampling pump attached.

A computer is not required to operate this stand-alone system, making the unit extremely portable and flexible. However, function test and calibration reports can be automatically downloaded or printed via a standard PC/printer interface. The reports are ideal for confined space entry permits with information pertaining to instrument serial numbers, pass/fail indications, bump test readings and full span readings for each sensor installed in each M40 monitor. Available accessories include a serial data printer and an optional battery powered kit that enables the system to be used in remote areas.

The M40 is a reliable, low cost alternative for monitoring any configuration of one to four gases, including carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, oxygen and combustible gases found in a wide variety of industries including fire service, oil and gas, construction, petrochemical, and any confined space application. Weighing just 8.6 ounces (243 g), the small, ergonomically designed monitor has a large custom LCD display for continuous display of real-time gas readings, and international graphic symbols for setup and operation.

M40 standard features include a continuous loop datalogger, peak/hold functions, STEL and TWA readings, and rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 18 hours of continuous runtime. When gas concentrations exceed preset limits, the M40 monitor alerts the user with the bright visual and 90-dB alarms, and activates the internal vibrating alarm for high-noise environments. Each M40 monitor comes equipped with a charger, nylon carrying case, cell-phone belt clip and calibration cup with tubing. All M40 monitors carry a two-year all-inclusive warranty.
