CommentsUnited Safety is a leading provider of H2S Safety Equipment and H2S Safety and Technical Services to the Petroleum Industry. Focused on the core business of providing breathing air equipment and detection systems for all IDLH environments United Safety Ltd. Was incorporated in Febuary of 1987 after purchasing the assets of Oilind Safety Engineering, a company which had been in the safety service and supply business since 1962. The original founding shareholders and management team continues to manage and operate United Safety today.
Initially United Safety provided H2S protection and safety consulting services to the western Canadian Oil and Gas industry . The company also won several small offshore contracts in Atlantic Canada. Services in 1987 included H2S protection, safety equipment rentals, safety & loss control consulting services and emergency response planning.
In 1990, Plant Turnaround & Maintenance Services were added along with the provision of safety services for refinery operations. Since the introduction of these services, United Safety’s commitment and dedication to the provision of world class safety services to this sector of the Oil and Gas industry has generated tremendous response both within Canada and abroad. Recognition of United’s innovative service products, its quality based systems and procedures, and its knowledged approach to the Plant Turnaround & Maintenance Services business has earned United Safety an enviable reputation as best in class provider of such services to a significant number of clients. At the turn of the millenium United Safety was able to claim 30 % of its revenues from this sector of the industry.
In 1991, United’s established infrastructure, capabilities and reputation allowed successful diversification to the International sector. The company's strategy, to establish a solid, credible and reputable international safety service group to provide H2S protection through value based H2S safety equipment rental services and knowledge based H2S safety supervisory services to international operators around the globe. This strategy has proven to be a sound and profitable business decision and, at the turn of the millenium, United Safety was providing safety services in over 20 countries around the world with operations both onshore and offshore in upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the international petroleum industry. Along with world-wide contract & project work, United further proceeded to establish a number of alliance/partnership operations not only domestically in Atlantic Canada, but also in Europe, in the Far and Middle East, In Asia and in other focus areas around the globe. United is currently working to further develop these innovative systems and arrangements to better service the petroleum industry.
