BLENHEIM, Ont. -- One day after ceremonies were held to remember workers injured or killed on the job, a man was fighting for his life after a workplace incident.
The unidentified employee of Ridge Landfill in Blenheim suffered life-threatening injuries after being pinned under a piece of heavy machinery Tuesday morning.
Sgt. Gary Conn of Chatham-Kent police says the man was operating a bulldozer-loader type of machine when it slid down an embankment and flipped, pinning the man underneath.
The unidentified victim was airlifted to a hospital in London, where he was listed in critical condition.
